Copenhagen
A super simple trip down here... well, that would have been the case if Google Maps hadn't suddenly decided to change the route for something faster - via a ferry. Fortunately, spotting a ⛴️ on multiple road signs, I pulled over and realised what was going on. But despite re-routing, shortly after setting off, Google Maps was, once again, trying to route me back onto the ferry 😠
And along the route, I got to go across the Øresund international bridge - it's mahusive... approx 16km long, and connects Sweden & Denmark. It's not free, but something tells me the maintenance isn't going to be cheap 😬
I arrive at the accommodation... Urban Campers, Copenhagen. This place has got such a nice feel about it. There's a common area where everyone tends to hang out, filled with benches, sofas, games, pool tables, etc... (oh, and a bar). The lighting, the music, the staff, the people chatting away, it's perfect.
I'm shown to a tent, which is empty apart from 4 bunkbeds & lockers...
I go back down to get my bags, and on returning back, there's someone else in there... A chap called Jakub (definitely not gonna forget that name).
After a brief natter, I get my kit packed away and head off for a bimble around the city...
Not long into the walk, it's raining. To be fair, this is the first time that it's rained on this trip, so probably about time.
A few hours later I head back, grabbing a lamb kebab en-route - come-on, it is the weekend, after all 😁
Arriving back at the hostel, I head into the common area, and grab a pint - rude, not to, right??... And Jakub is in there having some food. Before long he's come over and started chatting. And that was us, for the rest of the evening.
Gonna be working from here for the next few days, but considering what it's been like so far, I'm already contemplating making some regular trips out here. Just need to convince the wife to get a remote job 😅
