Mallorca Cycling & Padel 2026
7 days in Mallorca... surrounded by gorgeous scenery, padel courts, amazing weather... oh, and road bikes hired for 3 days.
Day 1 - City Bikes & Padel
The hotel where we were staying, just on the outskirts of Puerto de Pollensa, hired city bikes for 12 euroes a day... honestly, it's the best way to get around the town.
We cycled into town and went and found one of the local padel courts... unfortunately, someone didn't take their own racket, so had to hire one. And let's just say, if this was your first ever experience of the game, you'd probably be put off for life!! Made from plastic, it was the most lifeless thing known to mankind, probably about 15 years old and well past its sell-by date. Oh, and it was 4 euros to hire AND they insisted on having a copy of our passport, i guess just in-case we were tempted to run off with it 🤣
Day 2 - Time to Collect the Bikes / Shake Down Ride
Hired from https://www.mallorcabikehire.com/ the bikes have always been in good condition, although the last time we went the saddle had been swapped for something very cheap and within a few hours of riding, ones nether region was completely numb... so this time, taking no chances, I went equipped with pedals AND my own saddle.
Anyways, once all sorted, we headed off for a short shake down ride... out to the tip of the island, Cap de Formentor.
Day 3 - The Biggie
We've been to the island a number of times, done the iconic Sa Calobra a couple of times, but never ventured (on bikes) further across towards Port de Sóller - which is one of the most stunning parts of the island.
The climb en-route, is the highest peak of the island, Puig Major. Nothing too steep, but about 15km of a climb
Day 4 - Puig de Son Sastre
Mallorca can definitely be divided into two types of cycling. flat and mountainous. If you cycle in the north, you're gonna spend all day going up and down considerable climbs. Rarely that steep, but they often go own forever. Then you have the south of the island, which is almost completely flat. You can ride all day, well over 100 miles, and only climbing a total of a few hundred meters.
However, there are a few exceptions, and Puig de Son Sastre is one of them. Almost completely flat all the way around it, but a 200m bump in the ground is home to this castle.
